me and takalan stepped into a euchrist church the other day. it was that kind of a big church built in a grand yet delicate manner and it was old. but the building is just an empty facade because the church and God aren't important to most people here. on a monday afternoon service, there were no more than ten people at the service (including us) only, and for such a big church, only a smaller room was used instead of the main sanctuary. the pastor, or priest, whatever you call him, the guy up there had to go through so many motions and he was reading them from a big book at the front. at some points he said something and the rest had to respond. it was like this back and forth sort of standard discourse between the PRIEST and the CHORUS from plays. (oedipus rex :). Obviously we were left out of whatever they were saying, except when they did the Lord's prayer.

the congregation was small possibly cos we went on a weekday service? but even then its still a small number of worshippers. i think i understand now what it means by uk and other european countries being post religious. they don't really hate religion or disbelieve in the existence of god. but when they find you're religious, they'll say something like: oh its good that you have something to believe in, especially in this world thats all messed up. thats bad justification and they there isn't really the concept of a relationship there. i think many rely on borrowed faith, and thats why youths today are 3rd or 4th generation christians. they haven't experienced the love of christ firsthand! keeping to tradition doesn't help either, because youths just don't feel right there. i have a friend from spain who goes to church only once in months just to go along with his grandmother. he's never heard of youth service and thought that it'd help alot if they had it.

thats important! is your faith real? is it experienced first hand?
