I'm in the lab now. waitingwaitingwaiting.
Its 10:47am,
contrary to what the blue words indicate.
I'm not sure how you change the time, but the timings for my posts have all been wrong. Or i'd be up at unimaginably odd hours of the day, making me almost noctournal.
I haven't done much work at the lab yet. Its mostly been working on the computer, using an online database to find the zebrafish equivalent of the gene that I'm working on. Zebrafish -> a model organism used in research. We can't do gene manipulation experiments on humans, so why not do it on animals?
Simply put, its overexpressing or underexpressing, or completely knocking down the gene in the fish and seeing what happens to it.
It sounds kind of cruel. but isn't science learning through observation?
